The inspection mission was the first part of the so-called "strategic search".
The NRW Police Act forms the basis for this.
District administrator and head of the authority Markus Ramers saw the inspection day for himself on site.
The "strategic manhunt" ordered by the head of the authority himself aims, among other things, to combat crime, shed light on the dark field, prevent lawless areas and strengthen the population's sense of security
The "strategic manhunt" is limited in terms of space and time. The measure is initially valid for 28 days.
During this time, visual checks are permitted even without a specific reason.
Persons can be checked and questioned about their identity, taking particular account of proportionality.
Items and vehicles being carried can also be inspected.
On Tuesday into the evening, 143 people were checked and 48 vehicles inspected.
There were four arrests for the execution of arrest warrants and nine people were banned from the area.
Seven vehicles were stopped. 26 administrative offenses were detected.
Head of the authorities Ramers: "For me, the strategic search is a very important instrument. We use it to show: The police are not looking the other way, they are providing security, especially here in Euskirchen. We are sending a message to the criminal scene: Watch out, you will be monitored - and crimes will be consistently prosecuted."
